The Weather – Art Print & Poem
My dad has Alzheimer’s, and this piece was created to capture what that journey can feel like.
I’ve used the British obsession with talking about the weather as a metaphor for the uncertainty of dementia — the sunny days when memories and laughter shine through, the clouds of confusion, and the foggy days when he feels completely lost.
There is joy, sadness, love and grief, often all within the same day. You never quite know what the weather will be like.
Creating this piece has been a way for me to process what is happening, honour my dad, and share something that I hope helps others understand the experience of living alongside dementia.
50% of sales from this print will be donated to Alzheimer’s Society via Work for Good.
Prints available in A4 and A3 size.
Each print comes with a copy of the poem I wrote.
